Music & Danish
A workshop for those who have Danish as a second or third language and are curious about Danish music and culture.
All levels of Danish and singing are welcome. It doesn’t matter if you have participated in any course in Danish or not, or have experience with music, or not. If you want to relate and to connect with life in Denmark through Danish songs, this course is for you.
We will sing a selection of Danish classics, learn the melodies and practice the pronunciation. We will talk about the meaning of the songs, and we will get a deeper understanding of the Danish culture through the music and the songs.
The Danish tradition of singing together, called *fællessang*, is an important part of social life. People sing from the *Højskolesangbog* in schools, community events, and public gatherings. This act of singing together helps bring people closer and creates a strong sense of belonging, no matter their background, age, or views.
