Sophia Sagaradze is a sound artist, composer, and performer from Georgia based in Denmark.
She holds a master's degree in electronic composition (DIEM) from the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus and a bachelor's degree in classical composition from Tbilisi State Conservatoire(TSC), Georgia. Sophia has previously also studied, as an exchange student, at the F. Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary.
Currently, her artistic work focuses on multichannel electronics, sound spatialisation, interactive installations, and multidisciplinary performances. Sophia has recently got a talent prize in composition from Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen’s Foundation (2022).
Sophia is a co-founder of the duo Shattered Objects, where she collaborates with composer Neli Pantsulaia. The duo explores politically charged aspects of cultural identity in their performances, and they aim to portray them in an expressive, conceptual and harrowing manner.
Since August 2022 Sophia has been a lecturer at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg. She is teaching three courses: Interactive Projects, Programming and Multichannel Setup and Sound Installations.
Along with her artistic activities, Sophia been heavily involved in management and production in various international and local projects, music festivals, associations, and her own startup. She has been freelancing as live sound engineer and streaming manager.
Sophia is a founder and leader of Aarhus Lydforening (ALF). ALF is a shared working space, which will act as a hub for creative ideas and a sustainable environment with shared equipment for working on electronic compositions, sound art, installations, interactive art and surround sound systems. She is a member of the quality enhancement working group at the faculty of the Music Technology, TSC.
Sophia recently also joined Lydbyen development board.
